Power supply disrupted in N India
JANUARY 6: Power supply in large parts of North India including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and sections of Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir was disrupted on Thursday due to a snag in the northern power grid.A spokesman of Chandigarh electricity department told PTI here that though the exact cause of disruption was yet to be ascertained, it was suspected that the grid collapsed due to short circuiting of transmission lines near Delhi due to thick blanket of fog and overloading of system due to increased demand.
