Sporting tiles
SPL Ltd, makers of Somany tiles, has launched Sydney Olympic series of wall and floor tiles. The series consists of 300 mm x 200 mm Sydney wall tiles and 300 mm x 300 mm Olympic floor tiles. The lustre for tiles' glazed ceramic is being imported. The specially printed tiles are created by using a family of six designs in various colour options. According to Abhisek Somany, senior president, SPL Ltd, ``The designs have been created by the design labs in Italy in consultation with our-in house design centre at Kassar.''

Garlic for health
Health Total, the umbrella company headed by nutritionist Anjali Mukherjee and her husband Sourabh has made its foray into health foods. The latest addition from the stable are `Garlic Sticks'. Packed in 100 gms, the garlic sticks are priced at Rs 12. The company also plans to launch jeera, cheese and pepper flavours.

Oxemberg, the readymades division of Siyaram Silk Mills has launched a millennium pack of formal shirts. The pack has two shirts, one white and the other blue. Priced at Rs 999, the Oxemberg pack is a supersaver pack considering the fact that the actual price of two shirts is Rs 1200. The millennium pack contains the ``Feather Feel'' range of premium shirts.

Mostrela brand of knitwears has launched a new range of knitwears targeted at young women under the sub brand Checkers-Warm Hugs. The latest rage in Europe, Checkers has been introduced for the first time in India. Priced between Rs 995 and Rs 1,595 Checkers collection comes in more than 30 colours and is available at all the leading and premium stores in Delhi, and Ludhiana.

Branded baubles
Delhi-based Lalsons Jewellers plans to make a foray into branded jewellery later this month. The company, which hitherto was an exporter of handmade and machinemade jewellery since 1987, has started manufacturing diamond and gold jewellery to launch its own branded jewellery for the domestic market. The company already has a showroom in Delhi and plans to open one more soon-in line with the retail strategy to open two showrooms every year. Following the Delhi launch, the company plans to open franchices in all states of the country.
