New Delhi, Jan 19: Hewlett-Packard India has decided to carve out a separate division called Complementary Products Division from its existing Enterprise Computing Sales Organisation to look after the sale of complementary products. The company's enterprise computing business is focused around the American major's e-services strategy under which it is working with a number of companies for large-scale proliferation of services and applications using the internet.
ECSO provides enterprise customers with integrated solutions encompassing hardware, software and services from HP and its partners. Since HP worldwide has a specialised complementary products division termed HPCP, it has now been decided to extend the same to India.
Globally, HPCP covers 47 countries and represents over 300 third party products complementary to the existing range of products and services for HP's enterprise customers.
The one-man division, set to be expanded soon, would focus on procurement and reselling of third party products. It would focus on four areas of mission-critical computing, e-services, storage and communication.
Speaking at a press conference here, HP India president Ganesh Ayyar said the step would further HP's strategy of providing total solutions to its enterprise customers. ``It fits well in our e-services strategy under which HP hopes to partner with its customers in transforming their business models to those that are in tune with the next step of internet paradigm,'' said Ayyar.
HP already has partnerships with leading organisations like Cisco and Oracle on a worldwide basis. It is now targeting more companies to focus on the growth opportunities as India today offers the third largest market in Asia-Pacific, according to Ayyar.
