Rajasthan gets $250 m ADB loan for urban infrastructure
JANUARY 19: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has cleared a $250-million loan for infrastructure development projects in Rajasthan. The loan was sanctioned during an hour-long meeting between the visiting ADB president Tadao Chino and chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday in Jaipur, an official release said on Wednesday. Although the loan agreement signed with the bank on December 1 last provided for a 90-day period to put it into effect, the ADB president, acceding to Gehlot's request declared the loan effective at the meeting itself. This follows completion of all formalities regarding the loan by the state government.Copyright © 2000 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
