MUMBAI, MARCH 3: Panic on placements? Cool it. Last week saw the launch of coolavenues.com a portal specilising in placement information for MBAs, chartered accountants, engineers and others. The site which was launched by three IIT and MBA graduates is also readying itself for its first round of funding. "We are looking at offloading about 20 per cent of our equity at the moment and are in advanced talks with a couple of leading venture funds" says Lokendra Tomar, co-founder, coolavenues.com.The company hopes to close the deal in the next couple of weeks and is looking at sourcing funds to the tune of about Rs 2 to 3 crore. Coolavenues is also in talks with a couple of NRI investors who have a corpus and may take a portion of the 20 per cent equity set aside by the company for partners.
The site has detailed information on India's top 80 corporates at the moment. The information is largely relevant to potential applicants and therefore focusses on business description, products and services, the placement company's differentiating factors and opportunities they provide. "We are really looking at building communities of professionals largely in the area of business management, chartered accountancy and engineers," says Tomar.
The company has a couple of revenue streams planned. "We will eventually charge the companies whom we profile, we will also charge headhunters who avail of our service to recruit people and besides, we provide a focussed niche for advertisers," says Tomar.
