Intel unveils NetStructure products

Mumbai, March 3: Intel Corporation has launched a series of communication products and service aimed at e-commerce providers under the brand name NetStructure. The company said that these products will improve e-commerce transactions through faster on-line connections, security authentication and server response time.

NetStructure products will focus on new family of value added infrastructure appliances and networking communications equipment for e-business. Intel said that these can be deployed easily and can complement with any company's existing infrastructure to improve server performance by 150 times.

About seven products in the new NetStructure will be on caching, e-commerce load balancing and high speed switches for rapid transmission of data. The load balancer can evenly balance the spread of Internet traffic among available servers and improve their performance. Security authentication is another feature. Intel has built up its own Web model where it accepts $1 billion worth orders on-line every month. Intel is making a big initiative on the marketing side with the launch of a multi-million dollar marketing campaign on communication products.

The company said that the Web caching appliances, developed with Inktorni Corp will be available next year will have advanced streaming media, content transformation and rented applications. Under its ISP Programme, aimed at ISPs and ASPs based on Intel server platform and networking products, a web site has been launched to offer a variety of communication, sales and marketing tools and training.
