CALCUTTA, MARCH 4: Dunlop management on Saturday said both the recognised Unions of the company have assured of "all cooperation" with regard to reopening of the Sahagunj unit scheduled for March 11 after a two-year closure."We had cordial discussions with our two recognised unions today on the reopening of the company's Sahaganj unit in Hooghly district slated for March 11," company's assistant vice-president (industrial relations), Bibek Sensharma said here.
He said that representatives of the Citu-affiliated Dunlop Workers' Union and Intuc-affiliated Dunlop Rubber Factory Labour Union were called at hour-long parleys with him and the production unit head Pradip Mitra "where we had cordial talks on five-points for reopening of the unit closed since February 7, 1998."
Both the Unions, he said, assured of all cooperation, particularly on the four-week maintenance period, before resuming production in the unit.He said the reopening of the Sahaganj unit would be marked byformal inauguration by company president MD Shukla on March 11.
