LIC executive director to join IRDA as full-time member

MUMBAI, MARCH 6: OP Soniq, executive director, Life Insurance Corporation, is set to join Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) soon as the second member of the regulatory agency.

Soniq has been picked up by a committee comprising insurance secretary, chairman of IRDA and expenditure secreatry and secretary, personnel. Members of IRDA enjoy a rank equivalent to additional secretary to the government of India.

Soniq will represent the life insurance industry in the regulatory body and will be the second full-time member apart from chairman N Rangachary and H Ansari who represents the general insurance industry.
