Mahatta Camera Corporation has launched Canon Prima BF-90 camera, priced at Rs 2,400. The BF-90 includes convenience focus, auto exposure and also an automatic built-in flash. Other features include red-eye reduction and a self-timer. Its attractive platinum body is a part of the platinum colour range of cameras. Philips, the global leader in lighting, has introduced a new range of energy saving compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) under the brand name `Essential.' The range comprise an 8-watt CFL for Rs 215 and a 14-watt CFL for Rs 235.
Available in cool daylight colours, these `Essential' CFLs save as much as 80 per cent energy and have an increased life span of upto two years. The new range is available across the country at major electrical outlets. In an appealing futuristic shape, the range offers all the features and benefits of the top end compact fluorescent lamp.
HLL factory bags quality award
Hindustan Lever's Kanhan factory, which manufactures packet tea and tea-based beverages, has been awarded the IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award, Certification of Merit for 1999, in the manufacturing category. Instituted in 1997, the award is based on the Malcolm Balridge National Quality Award of the US, and aims at promoting quality awareness and practices in India.
