Govt seeks suggestions from hardware industry
The government would play the role of a motivator and promoter for the electronics and hardware industry, joint secretary in the ministry of information and technology Subramaniam Laxminarayan said on Friday. Inaugurating `Captech 2000', the capacitor technology show, the joint secretary said, the government was concerned about the problems facing the electronic and hardware industry and sought suggestions and alternatives on which it can act upon.

First ICO satellite set for launch
ICO Global Communications, the global mobile communications company, has announced that the first spacecraft in its series of global communications satellites is scheduled for launch aboard a Sea Launch vehicle on March 12. A 200-foot Sea Launch rocket will lift the 6,000 pound satellite, built by Hughes, Space and Communications Company, into middle Earth orbit.
