Enjoy! Hrithik kicks off endorsement career with Coke

Lalitha Srinivasan
Mumbai, March 10: After the flip-flop over which cola czar will bag the next beefcake baron, the jury is out: the soft-drinks major, Coca-Cola India has roped in Bollywood's latest heart-throb, Hrithik Roshan, as the new Coke endorser for its future communications.

Says a spokesperson from Coke: ``Yes, Hrithik Roshan will star in our new televison commercial and we are currently co-ordinating the details with him.'' The new Coke commercial is expected to hit the media in May 2000.According to a spokesperson from Hrithik Roshan's office, the junior Roshan will be shooting for Coke in the last week of April 2000. ``Hrithik will be off to a foreign locale to shoot for the commercial despite his hectic shedule,'' adds the spokesperson.

According to an ad industry source, Coke has hired Roshan by paying a hefty sum of money. ``As the brand is positioned for the young and adventure-seeking youth, the company has decided to feature a new macho hero in its new commercial,'' adds the source. It may be recalled that Coke promoted Hrithik Roshan's debut film ``Kaho Na...Pyaar Hai''.
