New Delhi, March 13: The US-based Biocore Medical Technologies Inc is planning to set up manufacturing base in the country for collagen-based wound dressing products and is scouting for a joint venture partner. "We hope to finalise a joint venture partner for the unit by this year end," Biocore Medical Technologies chief operating officer Manoj K Jain, said.For test marketing the products in the country before setting up the manufacturing facility, it has tied up with erstwhile non-banking financial company Wisec Global for importing and marketing, he said. Biocore, having presence in six countries, is looking at an investment of around Rs 20 crore for setting up the production facility. He said though Wisec Global had expressed its keeness for coming in as the joint venture partner, nothing had been firmed up as yet as the company was exploring more possibilities. "We are still in the process of working out logistics and hope to finalise the plans by the year end," he said.
The company has alreadyreceived approval from drug controller general of India for importing and manufacturing their products in the country, he said.
