RITES bags locos order in Bangladesh

New Delhi, April 5: Rail India Technical and Economic Services Ltd (RITES), a government of India undertaking, has bagged a contract for supply of 10 broad gauge diesel-electric locomotives to Bangladesh Railway.The export package includes service engineering support for two years, supply of maintenance spares and training of Bangladesh Railway personnel. The locomotives shall be customised for a lower axle load to meet local requirement. RITES is already executing a build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract for conversion of ordinary passenger coaches to air-conditioned type and their commercial exploitation on a revenue sharing basis.
