Bangalore, May 2: US-based start-up Trivium India Software Pvt Ltd is allset to promote its SimpleRM (an e-CRM product for the SME sector) productacross India and the US. With India as the R&D hub for Asia, the company isdrawing up plans to aggressively enter Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong andMalaysia) and Europe (UK, Germany and France) as part of its global focusstrategy.Trivium is looking at pumping in $1.5 million towards R&D activities fromits recently concluded second round of VC funding of $5 million from IntelCommunications fund and WR Hambrect.
The company's CEO Arun Kumar Maheshwari told The Financial Express that theSimpleRM solution was targeted at the SME sector, especially companies withan e-commerce strategy in place.
``We are looking at dot.coms, click-and-mortar companies. Firms operating inthe financial services, retail and manufacturing sectors are also part ofthe focus. The solution is horizontal in structure and can be customised tosuit specific requirements,'' Maheshwari said.
The product, currently in the beta stage will hit the US market by Junefollowed shortly by the launch in India. Strategic India marketingoperations would also be in place soon, he said.
The SimpleRM solutions were built to integrate multi-channels includingvoice, e-mail, chat, he said. Wireless technology solutions, to integratee-CRM solutions on WAP and PDA (personal digital assistant) applicationswere underway, Maheshwari added.
On the marketing and promotion front, the company is looking at setting upindirect channels for its product. Talks were currently on for OEM deals andjoint partnerships with companies in the services and dot.com areas in theUS, he said. The strategy would be similar for India, he added.
Trivium was also likely to scout for strategic acquisitions on the channeland R&D front next year, Maheshwari said.
As for pricing, the solutions would range anywhere between $10,000 to$100,000, he said. ``The SME sector's needs are as yet unaddressed. Ourstrategy is to offer simple solutions at effective prices,'' he said.
On the revenue front, the company is targeting a revenue of $2.5 millionthis year. As per projections, Trivium is looking at notching up revenues of$10 million by 2001 and $200 million by 2005, with SimpleRM being the majorrevenue contributor.
