New Delhi, May 2: Konka Electronics India Ltd has signed MoUs with two Delhi-based companies for the manufacture of DVDs, washing machines and telephone instruments. The tie-up with Airvision India Ltd is for manufacturing washing machines, while Daenyx International will be the OEM for DVDs and telephone instruments. The MoUs were signed by Konka India vice-chairman and vice-president of the Konka Group Lin Hanhui. According to vice president, sales and marketing, RB Tandan, the company intends to launch washing machines and DVDs in the Indian market in the next 3 to 4 months. The washing machine models, in the 5 and 5.2 kg sizes, will be from its existing global portfolio. ``The range will target the middle segment. We will not be competing with the premium segment,'' says Tandan. The Konka Group has just launched mobile phones early this year in China, but in India it intends to launch only telephone instruments.
CTVs will continue to be the company's core business. This year the company will concentrate on consolidating its position in the north, Gujarat, Rajasthan and the east, a market it entered only last month.
