Sun Earth Ceramics nine-month net up 161% to Rs 26.1 cr

Mumbai, May 3: Sun Earth Ceramics Ltd (SECL), a company of the Rs 500-crore Motwani Enterprises, has reported a growth of 161 per cent in net profit for the nine months ended March 31, 2000.

According to a company release, the net grew from Rs 10.03 crore in the corresponding last year to Rs 26.10 crore including operations of SECL's wholly-owned subsidiary Savana Ceramics Ltd. Total income, including subsidiary, increased from Rs 78.55 crore to Rs 160.79 crore, registering a growth of 104 per cent.

The earning per share (EPS) for the nine-month period stood at Rs 40.89 (annualised).

For the quarter ended March 31, 2000, total income excluding turnover from its subsidiary was Rs 44.14 crore as against Rs 27.85 crore in the corresponding last year. Net profit for the quarter was up from Rs 4.17 crore to Rs 6.98 crore recording a growth of 67 per cent, the company release said.
