Inqube launches C2C portal -- evalyou.com

Neeraj Saxena
New Delhi, May 10: Will this usher in an era of freedom for the consumer? A Delhi-based start-up Inqube Web Ltd on Wednesday launched a consumer-to-consumer portal which provides a platform for consumers to interact and share relevant information with each other, about different products and services available in the market. Targeted at Indian consumers, the Website, www.evalyou.com, will enable them to post feedback on various products and services in the form of user evaluations. Over 1,200 products and services have been listed for evaluation under 14 categories, which will be later increased.

The categories include airlines, automobiles, educational institutions, electronics and movies. Interestingly, the company is talking to various cellular service providers to integrate the site with cellular handsets, through wireless application protocol (WAP). According to Inqube promoter Mohit Gupta, the site will provide a big impetus to the consumers' preferences and opinions reaching the companies on one hand, and improving the consumers' decision-making on the other. After seeing the evaluations made available on the site, if a consumer chooses to buy certain product or service, Inqube will get a certain commission.

Elaborating on the revenue model, Gupta said his company would also syndicate content to other horizontal portals soon. "Besides, we could link evalyou to various e-commerce sites, and also derive revenue from banner ads," said Gupta. Co-founded by Gupta along with partner Madhur Daga, Inqube has invested Rs one crore in the site and is now looking for venture capital to carry out the expansion and improve the linkages. Regional language content is also planned for the site by the year-end.
