New Delhi, May 10: Tivoli Systems, an IBM group company, is gearing for amajor push of its network management solutions at the ISP/ASP space in thecountry. Also in the offing is the hardselling of its solutions relating tosecurity and storage area management.For the purpose, the company has entered into over a dozen businesspartnerships over the last nine months which among others includes TataConsultancy Services, Global Sofware Limited and Cyberspace Infosys. Talksare on with several other companies in this regard, including a consultingmajor and an international computer hardware manufacturer, senior IBMofficials said.
Confirming that IBM India has drawn up an aggresive plan to push Tivoli'ssuite of network management solutions in the country, Tivoli Systems countrymanager PA Krishnan said the company would be targetting a widecross-section of industries including telcos, ISPs, ASPs, banking, insuranceand financial institutions.
Krishnan said a slew of competency centres would be set up by the businesspartners to educate and demonstrate to the industry, issues relating tonetwork management.
On its ISP/ASP foray, the company would target Category A ISPs withsubscriber management systems. "We would like to offer them end-to-endsolutions to operate and manage their services," Krishnan said. In thisregard Tivoli in India will be working closely with IBM's NetGen team to tapthe ISP/ASP marketplace. Officials said the NetGen initiative comprises of avirtual team spread in different countries which tackles issues in theInternet space.
IBM officials said starting July this year, the company plans to organise anadvertisng campaign and on-ground events including roadshows and conferencesto drive home the message relating to network management solutions.
Officials said with size and numbers of network on the rise, there is a needin the market place for network management solutions.
Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Tivoli Systems has a suite of managementsolutions including systems management, storage management and network andsecurity management.
