HDFC, UTI, Tata Fin invest Rs 12 cr in MCS Software
HDFC, UTI and Tata Finance have invested Rs 12 crore in MCS Software Solutions for an undisclosed stake. MCS Software, a subsidiary of Object Resources Inc of the US, is also planning to raise funds as part of its second round of funding. MCS has launched Clarient Investor, an Internet-based software.

Satyamplastics.com unveils B2B site
Satyamplastics.com, a joint venture between Satyam Infoway and the Singapore based Plasticscommerce.com Pte Ltd of Singapore, has unveiled its B2B portal - www.satyamplastics.com. The company will invest Rs 3 crore to fund the site. The site will offer its users a virtual office to conduct trade and commerce through premium sourcing online.

Nasscom launches Operation Bandwidth
Nasscom is launching a major initiative-Operation Bandwidth-to increase the Net bandwidth in the country 80 times to 100 giga bits by 2003. At present, the country's Internet backbone capacity is only a paltry 1.2 Gb. Nasscom president Dewang Mehta said if the bandwidth is not expanded within three years, the country would incur a loss of $16 billion.Operation Bandwidth would also strive for Internet Telephoney in the country, presently not allowed.

myCIO.com's free online service for Microsoft's infected messages
myCIO.com, the world's first infrastructure application service provider and a Network Associates' business, has announced a free on-line service that will scan entire Microsoft Exchange e-mail servers, mailboxes and messsage stores for messages infected by the "I Love You" virus.
