L&T exports three reactors to US firm
LARSEN and Toubro Ltd on Friday exported three large polypropylene (PP) reactors to TOSCO Refinery Company of the US. The contract was awarded to L&T in September last year by Kvaerner Process of the US which is the largest E&C contractor in the world. The reactors, designed and fabricated as per ASME section VIII division 2 with code stamping, were for the first time exported to the US.

Lockout at Birla Corp unit
Birla Corporation has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that the company has declared a lockout in the Birlapur unit which manufactures jute products and linoleum as of April 3 2000. The strike had commenced on March 22, 2000.

Apollo Tyres action against workers
Apollo Tyres has informed BSE that the management is planning to take disciplinary action against the workers at the company's Vadodara plant. The workers had gone on an illegal strike and some of the workmen had indulged in violence thereby stopping the production of the plant.

KResp unveils new device
KResp, a division of Kopran Ltd, has launched a new aerosol holding device, which is smaller in size called `Vent-Mate'. The device would be used by asthma patient for respiratory disorders.

Zee bags `Ground Breaker' award
Zee Telefilms has been awarded the prestigious "Ground Breaker" award as the top national programmer by the US-based trade publication, Multichannel News International. The award has been conferred on Zee Telefilms for developing programme networks and related business in the country.

Forbes Gokak, TCS tie up
Forbes Gokak (FGL) and Tata Consultancy Software (TCS) announced a strategic partnership wherein TCS will be FGL's IT partner and will support FGL in its IT initiatives. They will also study the possibility of entering into a five-year outsourcing arrangement and will simultaneously consider the feasibility of developing IT solutions in the textile industry and market such solutions jointly, a press release said.

Binani gets merit certificate
Binani Industries Ltd has been awarded with the `certificate of merit' for its performance in the field of exports during the year 1998-99.

LTITL bags export award
L&T Information Technology Ltd (LTITL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of L&T Ltd, has been awarded the National Export Award 1998-99 by the ministry of commerce for the export performance achieved at a growth rate of 78 per cent. The company has a strong global presence with two international offices, six development centres in India and two overseas with plans to open five more overseas offices.

SKumar's.com to hike capital
The board of SKumar's.Com Ltd has decided, subject to approval, an increase in authorised share capital from Rs 26 crore to Rs 50 crore. It has also been decided to allot two lakh equity share of Rs 10 each @ US$15 per share (approximately Rs 650 per share) to Hughes Network systems as also issue 70 lakh equity share through ADR/GDRs or any other manner.

Ford teams up with Cox and Kings
Ford India Ltd (FIL) has joined hands with international travel firm Cox And Kings (C&K) to launch a joint promotion for Ford's josh machine `Ikon'. Under the scheme, all customers travelling with C&K will be eligible for a contest and lucky draw for winning the Ikon 1.3 CLXI, C&K's general manager South India and chief operating officer (business travel) Gopinath Nair said in New Delhi on Friday.
