Anand Krishnamoorthy
Chennai: Satyam Computer Services has announced its tie-up with Vignette Corporation of the US for the implementation of e-business applications. Vignette is a leading provider of e-business applications in the international market. GB Prabhat, director, Satyam Renaissance Consulting, said ,"there is a burgeoning need for business-focussed enterprise solutions and e-business solutions in Satyam's existing customer base as well as in the prospect base." Vignette has a customer base of 655 companies from sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, media and publishing, airlines and dot.coms.

The company is headquartered at Austin, Texas, USA and is listed on the Nasdaq. Although the two have decided to sharply focus the Asia-Pacific market for providing the e-business solutions, it was explained that e-business solutions are required worldwide and the partnership will endeavour to expand its business reach in the years ahead.

The two partners have agreed to share the revenue on the basis of the contribution they will be making in providing the e-business solutions. Satyam will earn the revenue for the services it provides, while Vignette will get its revenue from the products it delivers. Satyam Computer Services is aiming to employ between 50 to 75 people during the first year of operation in India for this partnership venture.
