Indialeger for Web-based accounting

Calcutta: Calcutta-based Matrix Infosystems Ltd has launched a Web-based acccounting portal Indialeger.com for maintaining of cash/ bank book, journal book, sales purchase books, trial balance, balance sheet and profit & loss account.

Managing director Alok Agarwal said that it is targeted at bottomline customers who are unwilling to invest huge amount into accounting software, for also those who are concerned about easy access of data from anywhere and for those who are mostly mobile.It is priced at Rs 400 monthly, though initially it will be available for a minimum of six months for Rs 2400. The subscribers can log in from anywhere to maintain their accounts under a specific identification. Data security is ensured through the use of encryption over the network.The subscription fees will cover 25,000 transactions or 10 mb space.

For the first 30 days the site can be accessed free, said Agarwal.In a bid to promote the site, the company has tied up with several chartered accountants who the company feels will play a pivotal role in increasing the acceptability.

The company has already disinvested part of its stake to a venture capital fund-Smifs, though Agarwal declined to comment on the details of the deal. Its equity is of Rs 3.5 crore.

The company has earmarked a number of areas for development of which some in the area of standard solution have been already introduced. It has also developed vertical market segment software like registration and transfer software, hospital management software, forex dealers software, retail outlet billing software and club management software.
