Bombay Dyeing net up 113% to Rs 43 cr
Bombay Dyeing announced on Wednesday, a 113 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 43.16 crore for the year ended March 31, 2000 as against Rs 20.23 crore in the previous year. The net sales grew by 9.9 per cent to Rs 946.49 crore. The compensation on voluntary retirement increased to Rs 5.18 crore from Rs 3.72 crore in the previous year. Maruti bags exporter award
Maruti Udyog Ltd was awarded the "Highest Exporter Award" in New Delhi on Wednesday. The award was given for exceptional export performance during 1998-99 in the motor vehicles sector. Union minister for commerce and industry Murasoli Maran presented the award to Maruti Udyog Ltd deputy general manager (exports) Rakesh Gupta.
IACC to open Washington office
The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) is setting up a branch office in Washington DC in order to promote and strengthen Indo-US trade ties. The IACC already has branches in other major world capitals.
Eicher Motors drops truck unit plan
Eicher Motors has scrapped plans to set up an assembly plant in South Africa for making light commercial vehicles (LCVs), a top company official said. The company has, instead, decided to enter new export markets like Egypt, Eicher Group chairman and chief executive S Sandilya said in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Eupharma Labs, Monsanto pact
Eupharma Laboratories has entered into a collaboration with Monsanto Enterprises Ltd to market `Equal' low calorie sweetener powder imported by it. The 45 gram powder bottle, marketed under the brand name `Spoonful' is priced at Rs 93.
