Mere Mehboob.com on the lookout for VC funding

Mumbai, June 7: The Mumbai-based Mere Mehboob.com India is in talks withboth local and international venture capitals for financing various projectsin e-commerce. The company proposes to launch a separate Website fore-commerce within the next two to three months.

Mohit Chaturvedi, chief executive officer of Mere Mehboob.com India -- - thelove and romance portal -- told eFE that his company was looking at raisingbetween $2 million to $5 million venture capital funds.According to him thecompany's promoter-directors were currently in the US to hold talks with fewleading VCs while discussions were on simultaneously with the IndianVCs.Chaturvedi said Mere Mehboob.com which has received a registration of4,900 users since its launch on May 9, will make forays into the e-commerce.

"For the proposed e-commerce venture, we are in the process of establishingour own supply chain and are looking at strategic alliances with existingportals to provide exclusive lifestyle products to our customers," headded.Chaturvedi said the company would create an exquisite lifestyleshopping plaza on the Net for its user members. He said Mere Mehboob.com hada treasure-chest of features including virtual avatar, poetry, virtual eyechat, love stories and letters, love match, love quotations, love radio andother features related to the love and romance.

On virtual avatar, Chaturvedi said that it allowed users to create their ownvisual avatar ready to descend on the Internet, where the user creates aprofile which he/she would like to be seen. The users have a wide variety ofchoices to create Web avatar by choosing kind of body structure, the hair,the eyes, smile and the clothes and it can be continuously updated.In thelove letters section, the user can select letters of their choice whichcontain classic love letters written by real love icons of the past andother celebrities.
