Indiabulls.com ties up with UTI Bank

New Delhi, June 8: Financial services portal Indiabulls.com has entered intoa co-branding alliance with UTI Bank. Similar such alliances are in theoffing with horizontal portals as part of marketing and brand awarenessexercise. The portal is also in the process of spreading its marketing wingsby opening up offices in several cities in the country and abroad, seniorcompany executives said.

As per the agreement, Indiabulls clients will open their savings and demataccounts with the UTI Bank. Both Indiabulls and UTI Bank will co-develop andjointly promote technology platform for easy online multi-location access.With several features facilitating online trading, clients can access theseproprietary services, OneAccount and AnyWhere Access, through multiple meansincluding mobile phones, ATM machines, telephone, fax and Websites ofIndiabulls and UTI.

Indiabulls chief operating officer Sameer Gehlaut told eFE that UTI Bankwill be co-branding its ATM facilities with Indiabulls and will be offeringseveral special services to Indiabulls clients. "For our clients, onlinetrading will be a matter of a few mouseclicks," Gehlaut said. His company isgoing to manage the front-end and clients' banking needs, he added.

Gehlaut said Indiabulls will enter into similar marketing and co-brandingrelationship with portals to act as their channel partner. Marketingalliances with other companies in the financial and consumer space are alsoin the offing.

As part of the brand-building exercise, Indiabulls will be spending Rs 5crore over the next couple of months, he added.

Talks are also on with several service providers for Wap-enabling theIndiabull portal. Gehlaut expected the portal to be Wap enabled over thenext couple of months.

As part of the brand promotion exercise, the company will be running mobilecollection centres across each city. "To start with, we will have around 15Omnis crisscrossing the capital," Gehlaut said. Similar mobile collectioncentres will be run in other cities across the country.

Gehlaut said in the coming months Indiabulls will be opening offices in theMiddle East and United Kindgom. Marketing offices are also being set up inall major cities in the country including Kanpur, Jaipur, Calcutta,Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai.

Indiabulls offers financial services both online and offline with the focuscurrently on the business-to-consumer segment. Gehlaut said the company willenter the business-to-business space and offer terminals to sub-brokers todo business online over the next three months. The company may offerhardware and software facilities to sub-brokers. The student community islikely to be a major catchment area for the company, he added. The companyis in the process of raising around $20 million through the second round ofventure finance. Talks are on in this regard with several venture funds,company officials said.
