WorkForce makes it easy to hire your staff

HUMA SIDDIQUI
Workforce is the new recruiting service from the Paharpur Business Centre in Delhi. It provides an indispensable human resource service for corporate houses and multinational companies.

``WorkForce offers permanent (perms) as well as temporary (temps) staffing solutions in New Delhi,'' says manager Salonika Meattle. A first service of its kind, WorkForce provides professional and skilled personnel on a temporary and permanent basis to meet the corporate sector's short term/long term requirements.

``We started three years ago as a temp agency,'' says Meattle, ``and today, with a support staff of 100 all over Delhi, we are a corporate's partners at work, offering short-term (one day to one month) assignments, long-term (one month or longer) and temp to perm (temporary employees absorbed as permanent employees) recruitments.''

Since the infrastructure was there from before, WorkForce got off to an easy start. Meattle explains that the agency offers a variety of services to its corporate clients-ad response handling, executive search, headhunting, offshore recruitment, contingency or retainer recruitment, HR consultancy, counselling, training, payroll administration and compensation structuring advice, to name just a few.

A comprehensive and regularly updated databank, accurate screening for interviews, provision for replacing the candidate if required within a specified time-frame, video and tele-interview options, Internet chat sessions, reference checks, friendly and helpful staff-these are WorkForce's USPs, explains Meattle.

She goes on to explains temps. "`Temporary' here means a person who is not on your company rolls, but on our's/ A contract will be signed between your company and WorkForce, under which a staffer will be provided on a short/extended time period according to your requirements,'' explains Meattle.

``Look at it this way: A highly variable workload demands periodic hiring and laying off of employees. A staff member has called in sick, another is planning a vacation, you have a special project that requires additional help, you want to evaluate a potential employee for a permanent position within your company (temp to perm), that's where we come in,'' Meattle says.WorkForce also runs a helpline, which is available to all temporary staff all hours of the day for back-up support. And the agency's large databank enables it to provide temps as soon as a need is felt.

``We hire qualified temporaries, who like their work and have superior work ethics. That's why they achieve outstanding results. And there are no liabilities of permanent employment to you,'' says Meattle.

She adds, ``You no longer need to spend time and resources on selection, recruitment and training of personnel. You can do all that at our expense instead.''

Right from CEOs to support staff, WorkForce is equipped to find you the right person for your job no matter where in the country the job may be, explains Meattle. However, she says, ``in the small towns, they look mainly for managerial staff''.

Meattle says, ``Basically, we try and understand the needs of the employer and the employee. All statutory dues and salaries of the employees are taken care of by WorkForce, in fact the hiring companies have minimum legal liabilities since a fidelity guarantee and insurance cover for personal accident is provided for all temps. We draw out terms and conditions with costs, allowing companies the flexibility to use a diverse range of options for the length of time that is best suited to their needs.''

``Our increasing customer base, which includes Fortune 500 companies and top Indian corporates, is adequate testimony to our commitment to high quality and reliability,'' she adds.
