Naik to make pitch for investments in oil sector

New Delhi, June 8: Petroleum minister Ram Naik is expected to hold bilateral talks with several oil and gas producing countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Russia at the 16th World Petroleum Congress to be held at Calagary, Canada from June 11 to 15.According to ministry sources, Naik is also expected to make a pitch for investments into the oil sector in areas such as exploration, refining and marketing. The minister plans to highlight emerging opportunities in the oil sector and circulate a paper including the Hydrocarbon vision document among the potential investors, sources added.In addition, the minister will also make a presentation on the proposed second round of New Exploration Licence Policy bidding planned for the last quarter of this calender year.
