Chennai, June 9: Pentagon Global Solutions Ltd will set up its wholly ownedsubsidiary at Botswana, Africa, shortly. The subsidiary will focus onproviding computer education and training.T Mahadevan, chairman and managing director, told eFe that Botswana was anattractive market with a large and educated English speaking population withhigh levels of income. The company would make inroads into other Africacountries such as South Africa through its subsidiary, he added.
Pentagon is also in talks with companies in Dubai and Baharain to cater tothe computer education needs of the Middle East markets. It has planned 100training centres under the brand name Pentagon Academy in India throughfranchise route by fiscal end.
The company will open its second software development centre in Chennai bythe first week of July. The centre, a 100 per cent EOU, will house 60professionals. Pentagon's existing software development centre has anemployee strength of 80. The main focus areas of the company in softwaredevelopment are in client server technologies, e-commerce, Web-basedservices and multimedia.
The company is working on an order from Specialist Management Resource, aMalaysia-based company for 200 educational multi-media titles production, The order is worth Rs 3 crore. Pentagon isscheduled to bring out educational multimedia tiles aimed at school students(CBSE and Tamil Nadu board) in July.
Initially, the titles would address the needs of students from eight totwelfth standard in maths and science. The company expects computereducation and training to contribute 30 to 40 per cent of its turnover inthe coming fiscal.
