Chennai, June 9: Cricinfo Ltd, which recently had Satyam Infoway picking up25 per cent stakes, will continue to maintain its unique identity as aseparate company, said chief coordinating officer Badri Seshadri in a mediabriefing recently. Though Satyam had a substantial holding as a singleinvestor in the company, Cricinfo would also look at other strategicinvestors with the possibility of going public at a later date.

The number of shares with Cricinfo post Satyam investment was 174,420 with anominal value of each share being 0.001. Cricinfo board is also beingexpanded to induct three more directors from the current five. The currentdirectors/promoters are Peter Griffith, Alex Balfour, Simon King, DavidLiverman, Badri Seshadri. Strategic investments in the future would be frompartners around the globe who would help in distributing Cricinfo's productsor give place in a portal, help with e-commerce.

Crickinfo generated 300 million page views last year with 95 million comingin the month of March alone. It is working on merchandising rights for cleardomains on its products. The company is expected to have a turnover of $3million for last year. The Satyam Infoway investments came in with IndigoHoldings who had brought in $5 million capital, selling out. About $ 21.5million is to be given to Indigo, the remaining to Cricinfo through freshissuance of shares.

The Sify partnership was needed to tap Satyam's increasing ISP base in Indiawhere the Internet usage is still low. ``We did not want to spend too muchmoney on advertisements to increase our base here,'' said Seshadri. Thecompany has already got a 5-year agreement with the board of cricket in NewZealand for Internet rights, audio rights and selective video rights.

Similar projects would be taken to other parts of the world. UK is the nextmajor market and India would also be a prime focus. The software andtechnology wherewithal were already available with Crickinfo, but legalclearances were required. These forays are expected to increase revenues 4fold.
