Cisco, IDA and SingTel Aeradio create Singapore's first Net home
Cisco Systems Inc, the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and SingTel Aeradio are transforming a 4-room Housing Development Board (HDB) flat in Bishan into the country's first Internet Home. With the support of ASPnetcentre and a number of other organisations, the Internet home will boast always-on, broadband Internet access connecting nearly every household appliance and device in the flat. This will be the first Internet home in Singapore. IT Software of Italy in pact with Sonata Software
IT Software of Italy and Sonata Software Ltd have announced a joint development agreement, aimed at providing IT Software's e-finance projects through Sonata's state-of-the-art offshore software development centre in Bangalore, India. SAP Labs India to offer partners certification
SAP Labs India Pvt Ltd is all set to roll out its Complementary Software Program in India to offer SAP certification for products and solutions developed by third party developers, joint-development partners on SAP R3 platform and for business unit integration services on its mega marketplace -- www.mySAP.com. The program which was on in Europe, US and Asia was being introduced in India as part of the company's strategic plans to tap the growing software solutions market and to eventually make India the solutions hub for Asia, said SAP Labs co-director Clas Neumann.
Govt has big networking plans for N-E: Mahajan
Union IT minister Pramod Mahajan on Friday said the government had invested about Rs 220 crore on an initiative to connect all the administrative blocks in the North Eastern region. The government plans on installing Community Information Centres which will take Internet connectivity to the rural areas, he told newspersons in Mumbai.
New IT director for Samsung Electronics
Samsung Electronics India has announced the appointment of James Jong as director (IT operations) of the newly-formed wholly-owned subsidiary of the South Korean giant Samsung Electronics. Jong would be spearheading the company's growth plans for the infotech segment. Jong brings with him 17 years of sales and marketing expertise.
