M-Squared plans medical transcription training centres

Thiruvananthapuram, June 9: M-squared, which specialises in software development for medical industry,plans to establish a national network of home medical transcriptionists andmedical transcription units in the country. Also on the anvil are medicaltranscription training centres for which discussions are on with Aptech andNIIT.M-Squared has also acquired 60,000 sq ft land at Technopark here toconstruct its Indian headquarters, Jacob Manimalethu, founder and chairmanof M-Squared said.He said that apprehensions about the future of medicaltranscription industry were not entirely true. The voice recognitionsoftware being developed is unlikely to replace manual medical transcriptionbusiness at least for four to five years, he said. Even global managementconsultants Arthur Andersen has predicted that the business would grow at afaster rate for the next five years before reaching a plateau.
