Y-Axis rolls out labour recruitment software tool

Hyderabad: Y-Axis.com, a vertical portal catering to the H1B community, has introduced a software tool called `Recruit and Sponsor', a specific product for recruiting hi-tech labour from all over the world.

The portal is aimed at garnering a community of 5,00,000, which consists mainly of aspirants for the coveted H1B visa, a temporary work permit to work in the US, issued to hi-tech workforce for a period of six years, according to a company press release.

The Website provides information on the firms which are currently recruiting, top recruiting firms, list of jobs available. It offers the firms to locate hot consultants, information on how and where to recruit, especially in India, which holds the most number of the aspirants.

According to the release, the site also offers a database on international vendors, who provide referral to these firms. It helps H1B holder to try for transfers and relocation among others.

Claimed to be the only portal of its kind in this particular niche, Y-Axis.com is looking for funds to the tune of $2.8 million to market its product, hire top management and build largest database of hi-tech skilled workforce worldwide.

The funds will also be for setting up four offices in the US to market its software on a lease basis to 5000 consulting firms. The company is opening the US branch in July.

The revenue earning stream includes content, community and commerce. It has forecast revenues of $20 million in 2001-2002 based on conservative targets.
