Ceat to make radial tyres at Nashik unit from early-July

Hyderabad, June 29: Tyre major Ceat Ltd will commence the commercial production in its radial passenger tyre plant at Nashik from the first week of July and the company is expected to raise its market share from 14 per cent to 20 per cent in two years' time, said Ceat executive director, marketing Shashi Maudgal.A separate unit set up with an investment of Rs 60 crore 10 months ago to manufacture radial passenger tyres for cars and jeeps will have a production capacity of 28,000 units per month in the first phase. It will be increased to 52,000 during the second phase, he said. Radial tyres will witness an annual growth of 10 per cent for both sales and market share, Maudgal said.
