BIFR asks Binny for revised revival plan
THE Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR), has directed Binny Ltd to submit a revised rehabilitation proposal to the operating agency Industrial Development Board of India (IDBI) and has directed the company to tie-up the means of finance within three weeks. ABIFR bench comprising chairman PP Chauhan and member G Narayanan, said that in case the sick company's promoters failed to submit their revised rehabilitation proposal, the bench would initiate further steps.

Tyre dealers plea to BIFR
The All India Tyre Dealers Federation (AITDF) has appealed to the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) to direct the ailing Dunlop India Ltd to not mislead its dealers by providing inflated financial information.Accusing Dunlop of trapping unwary dealers by glorifying their plan of action and offering a rosy future scenario, the federation asked the BIFR to direct the company to stop giving such misleading information.Motor Industries appoints new MD
Andreas Nobis has been appointed as the new managing director of Motor Industries Co Ltd (MICO) with effect from July 1, 2000. Nobis takes over from Hannes Bertling who has subsequently retired. Prior to this appointment Nobis was the joint managing director (sales aftermarket).

The Rs 672-crore BK Birla group flagship, Kesoram Industries Ltd, has approached the central government to seek permission to change the basis for providing depreciation on the assets of its cement divisions.

Dodsal bags Rs 805cr contract
Dodsal Ltd, a Mumbai-based engineering and construction company, has bagged an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth Rs 805 crore for the Oman Gas Company's Salalah gas pipeline project. Currently, the Oman Gas Company (OGC) and the Oman government are finalising financing .
