HCL Infosystems launches a new series of BeanStalk PCs
HCL Infosystems Ltd (HCL Insys), has announced the launch of the new Internet-ready, ergonomically-designed series of HCL BeanStalk PCs. Comprising the HCL BeanStalk Ultima, HCL BeanStalk Utlima Pro, these hi-tech multimedia PCs are designed and come equipped with the latest technology. HCL BeanStalk PCs are manufactured in HCL Insys' ISO 9001 certified facility at Pondicherry. Frontline Division, the distribution arm of HCL Insys, will market these PCs through its extensive distribution network of 800 resellers and 80 retail outlets across 300 cities.Cognizant Technology opens office in USA

Sun Microsystems, Edutech in a strategic tie-up
Sun Microsystems and Edutech Informatics India Ltd (Informatics) have entered into a strategic alliance to extend the Sun Authorised Centres status to 10 Informatics Centres nationwide for Java education. Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Padubidri, country head, Sun Microsystems said, "Sun technologies are the foundation of the dotcom revolution. By the end of the year 2001, less than 50 per cent of the worldwide demand for efficient Java developers will be met as per a Gartner Group research report''.
Mahajan to address world IT meet at Jakarta today

Siemens's new information, communication solutions
Siemens Limited on Friday announced its new line of information and communication solutions-`Hicom 150 E office' and Euroset line 8I'. Executive vice-president of Siemens' Private Communication Systems Division, S B Banerjee, told PTI that introduction of ESL8I for small office solutions marks the foray of Siemens into the low-end segment. The Hicom 150 Eoffice systems aim at consolidating Siemens' position in the mid-segment, he said.
