Jamnagar, July 2: Union ministries of agriculture and textiles along with the public sector Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) have jointly taken up a scheme to adopt the villages for increasing the production of quality cotton in the country, Union textiles minister kashiram rana said here on Saturday.Addressing a workshop on `The technology mission for increasing the production of quality cotton', he said that the Union government has sanctioned a package of Rs 593 crore for the adoption of most modern technology to upgrade quality of cotton and textiles.
Union textiles minister claimed that due to various steps taken by the Union government during last three years, more than 10 per cent increase has been registered in the production and export of the textiles.
