More than just pasta and pizzas

There's more to Italian food than just pasta and pizzas. Italianni's, at Radisson Hotel in Delhi, is promoting two varieties of Italian food for those who love Italian food, but want to go beyond the usual stuff.

Over the last two weeks, Italianni's has brought gnocchi and steaks to the Capital straight from Italian homes. Gnocchis are Italy's answer to Tibetan momos or Chinese dim sums. They are made either from flour or potatoes and stuffed with a variety of fillings. A range of steaks are also available at the restaurant, from tenderloin and lamb racks to ham and shrimp. The tenderloin has been imported from Australia. The Tenderloin Saltibucca, tenderloin with a slice of ham on top with Chianti sauce (an Italian wine) is an excellent choice and it comes with riccota (cheese) gnocchis.

The crushed black pepper steak is a traditional dish and served with potato gnocchi.

Starting today, Italianni's will also promote cannelloni (traditional tubular pasta) with a variety of fillings. Some of these are innovations by the restaurant, for example the dessert cannelloni made with chocolate flambe with mango or mint sauce. The classic combinations of cannelloni with spinach and ricotta and cannelloni with crushed almonds and cashewnuts in an orange sauce are all-time favourites. Then there is cannelloni with tenderloin and Chianti sauce and mushrooms dressed with herb oil served with a traditional Italian tomato sauce.

The cannelloni are priced between Rs 325 to Rs 425, the steak and gnocchis at Rs 495 (one steak is served with two types of gnocchis) and the shrimp steak at Rs 595.
