Techspan Inc to invest $ 7m; to set up dev. centre
US-based technology company Techspan Inc on Thursday said it would invest up to $7 million this year for expanding its operations including setting up of a competence development centre to develop wireless technologies in the country. "The company would invest about $7 million by by end 2000 for expansion including setting up of a development centre and strengthening its marketing base and training activities," Arjun Malhotra, chairman and CEO of Techspan said in New Delhi. Techspan currently has about 60 per cent of its stake with venture investors - Goldman Sachs and Walden International Investment Group. Malhotra said that the CDC based at Techspan's centre of excellence in Noida would integrate into the company's US-based Wireless Laboratory in Virginia.Net4India reduces ISDN access rate

SAP retains position on inter-enterprise solutions market

Convergence Bill unlikely in Monsoon session
The much hyped Convergence Bill might not be introduced during the monsoon session of Parliament beginning on July 24 as the ground work has not yet been completed, top government sources said on Thursday. The Bill is being currently examined by an expert group headed by Fali S Nariman, which is meeting here today to finalise the draft Bill and thereafter it would be put on the Internet to invite comments, sources said. "Since the draft will be further discussed and polished after receiving comments through Internet and other means, it would not be ready to be introduced in the monsoon session", sources told PTI.
Mauritian Bank to deploy Infosys banking solutions
Infosys Technologies Ltd has established a strategic technology partnership with Delphis Bank Limited, one of the leading commercial banks in Mauritius. The Bank plans to revamp its existing information technology infrastructure with software solutions from Infosys. Under the agreement, Delphis Bank would deploy FinacleTM the web enabled new generation enterprise banking solution and comprehensive treasury system from Infosys.
