Mahindra BT net rises 60% in Q1
Mahindra British Telecom has announced a net profit of Rs 20 crore for the first quarter of the fiscal posting a 60 per cent rise over the corresponding period last year. Income from operations touched Rs 785.93 million an increase of over 52per cent in the corresponding period last year. The company has bagged orders worth Rs 242 crore during the quarter and acquired 11 new clients according to a company press release. British Telecom Plc awarded a 1.2 crore contract to MBT during the period. The company proposes to open three development centres this year. Duphar board meet on July 29
The board of Duphar-Interfran will meet on Saturday, July 29, 2000 to consider the dividend for the year ending March 31, 2000 as also the unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2000.
Varun Shipping posts Rs 1.5cr net
Varun Shipping has posted a 208 per cent increase in net profits to Rs 1.54 crore for the quarter ended June, 2000 as against Rs 50.19 lakhs for the corresponding quarter in the previous year. The company has recommended a dividend of 14 per cent for the year ended March, 2000.
Contech clocks Rs 1.49cr net
Contech Software has posted a net profit of Rs 1.49 crore for the year ended March 2000 as against Rs 34 lakh in the previous year. Turnover has rose to Rs 5.27 crore from Rs 98 lakh in the previous year. The company has repaid all outstanding loans, after its recent public issue and has become a debt free company.
Moser Baer net spurts to Rs 30.7 cr
Moser Baer India Ltd, one of the key manufacturers of data storage products, has announced total revenues of Rs 70 crore for the quarter ended June 2000. Revenues are up substantially from Rs 30 crore in the corresponding period last year. The net profit stands at Rs 30.7 crore (Rs 6.6 crore).
Kabra ties up with German firm
Kabra Extrusiontechnik has signed an agreement for technical collaboration with Battenfeld Extrusiontechnik GmbH, Germany for next generation plants for the plastic industry. The company has also launched silicon-layered HDPE pipe plants, used for laying fibre-optic cables for the telecom and IT sector.
