New Delhi: Following restructuring of the Bharti Group, Bharti Telecom, which holds stakes in the operating companies through its subsidiaries Bharti Televentures and Bharti Telespatial, will become the lead engine to drive all telecom services.The service operations of Bharti Televentures will be restructured under three business lines - mobility (for cellular projects), basic services (for fixed & fixed wireless services) and networks (for broadband services, domestic long distance, V-sat and infrastructure development).
The company also announced the creation of three divisions under a new business line called "networks". The new divisions are broadband services, domestic long distance (DLD) services and infrastructure development. Bharti-BT Internet, the VSAT service provider, will also be a part of networks business line.
Rajan Bharti Mittal as joint managing director of Bharti Telecom will continue to be responsible for formulating strategies and policies for the group. Akhil Gupta, has been appointed as the second joint managing director, who will look after the finance part of the operations. The company also announced today the appointment of Anil Nayar as president - mobility, Badri Aggarwal, as president - basic services, while Mr B D Khurana, takes over as president - networks.
A president will head each business line to whom all CEOs of the service companies will report.The new structure also defines the role of the CEO's who would be totally empowered to manage their respective companies and will be fully responsible for business operations to build world-class organisations with a high degree of customer focus.
Today, the company also announced the appointment of N Arjun as the CEO, DLD division. Ashok Juneja takes over as the CEO of the broadband division and A K Dewan has been appointed as the CEO of the infrastructure development division. Four corporate directors - human resources, marketing & sales, finance and legal - will provide the functional overlay for both the companies
