Mumbai, Aug 02: When RK Swamy BBDO Advertising recently launched a mega recruitment campaign, ``Brains compulsory. Pony-tail optional'', it wasn't exactly joking.RK Swamy BBDO Advertising, with capitalised billings of Rs 250 crore, aims to register a growth rate of 30 per cent this year. Much of that will come from New Economy accounts. So now, as part of its expansion drive, RK Swamy BBDO Advertising is recruiting professionals across all disciplines: that especially means computer professionals and Web designers.
The projection of a healthy rate of growth comes on the back of new business gains which account for over Rs 50 crore. The agency's list of new accounts: Jobstreet.com, Going-to-America.com, Zee TV, Sony, LCC Infotech and Cisco Systems, among others. RK Swamy BBDO Advertising senior vice president Sangeetha Shetty now says that the agency, after the recent business gains, is on a consolidation drive. ``Our aim is to consolidate our new businesses first,'' said Shetty.
The agency plans to upgrade its infrastructure in a bid to serve its clients better. ``We will be opening new offices at prime locations in Mumbai. Also, we will be restructuring our work processes to offer faster integrated marketing communication solutions to our clients,'' elaborates Shetty. The Mumbai-based agency has branches in Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Calcutta.
The agency, set up in 1973, handles advertising accounts of over 70 companies across the country. ``Our strategy is to focus on developing the internal systems and work processes that will continuously support the increasing levels of our clients demands,'' explains Shetty. In fact, to cater to the new media needs of its clients, RK Swamy BBDO plans to strengthen its interactive division by setting up a team of computer professionals.
Says Shetty: ``With a dedicated team of computer professionals and Web designers, we handle online advertising for offline clients too.'' In addition to providing dotcom advertising strategy, the agency also handles database management and Web designing for its clients. The idea, says Shetty, is to offers online media planning and consultancy services to its clients. The agency thus encourages its offline clients to opt for online advertising, and recommends offline advertising for online brands.
