BPL Mobile set to launch new tariff scheme for businessmen

Our Bureau
Kochi, Aug 2: BPL Mobile is planning to launch a new series of value tariff plans. The scheme focuses on three different segments of business users. The Samridhi Value Plan is meant for the start-up business user, the Aiswaryam Business Super Value Plan for the entrepreneur, and the Premium Value Plan for a group of consumers who the company has identified as "achievers".The plans are designed keeping in mind the usage and life style requirements of these segments, said BPL head, Kerala business operations, Muhammed Saleem. BPL Mobile has spent a few months understanding the requirements of more than 20,000 people across the state. These comprised both users and non-users of cellular phones.

The new value tariff plans can be used in more than 52 towns in Tamil Nadu also. This is because of the combined network coverage of BPL Mobile in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The Samridhi Plan has been designed for first-time users, keeping in mind the fact that most first-time users are skeptical about their usage and the subsequent bill, said Saleem. The company has added 50 free minutes of usage as a key feature in the scheme, by paying only Rs 425 as the fixed monthly charge. The outgoing call would cost Rs 6 per minute while the incoming call rate would be Rs 3.5 per minute. Other privileges under the scheme include free incoming calls on Fridays.

For the upcoming entrepreneur, BPL Mobile is re-launching the Aiswaryam Plan with a few modifications. At a monthly fee of Rs 725, the customer does not have to pay for the first 30 seconds of all incoming calls. "An entrepreneur can keep in constant touch with his office for regular updates on business matters at virtually no cost", adds Saleem. Another privilege a subscriber can opt for is a Rs 200 rebate on calls made at night. The scheme also exempts subscribers from charges on calls made between 10 pm and 6 am and on Sundays. The outgoing call rate is Rs 4.5 per minute and Rs 1.6 per minute for off-peak outgoing calls. The incoming call rate is Rs 1.6 per minute.

The Premium Plan is targeted at the ever-busy businessmen, according to Saleem. The outgoing call rate under the scheme is Rs 3 per minute and Rs 1.5 per minute from the 2nd minute onwards while the incoming call rate is Rs 1.5 per minute. This feature has been designed keeping in mind that most of the high-end users make longer outgoing calls, Saleem said. The cellular major has also packed its new product with free MobileAnswerPhone which will help customers not to miss on any calls even when they are not reachable.
