"We expect to have our own diesel engine fitted Accent by the end of next year," he said.

At present, HMIL, is selling three petrol versions of the`Accent' and has sold over 10,000 units of the car since its launch in October 1999."The company is targeting to achieve a 15 to 20 per cent jump in turnover during 1999-2000 compared to last year's sales of about Rs. 2300 crore," Gandhi said. HMIL had sold 75,895 cars in the last fiscal and has targeted to touch the one lakh figure by the end of March 31, 2001.
