Satyam, Seec enter into strategic alliance
Satyam Computer Services Ltd (Satyam) on Friday announced that it has selected Seec Inc as its strategic provider of tools and technology for Satyam's worldwide e-business transformation practice. Under an agreement with Seec, Satyam would license Seec's component development and legacy transformation technology for use in its competency centres in Hyderabad, Pune and chennai in India and at its development centres in the USA.

According to a company release Seec would also be providing methodology and know how in the areas of business rule mining and componentising legacy cobol systems to an enterprise java bean (EJB) architecture.

N-E community centre project to be extended to J&K, HP
Government said on Friday the community centre project in the North-East providing IT and telecom access to far-flung areas would now be extended to various parts of the country including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar islands and other backward areas. In addition, the ministry of information technology (MIT) is in the process of compiling a comprehensive report for the implementation of the 13-point action plan on it growth which includes zero sales tax and lesser customs and excise duties on optical fibre, hardware and Internet access devices, P V Jayakrishnan, MIT secretary said.

egurucool in pact with 500 schools in 3 northern states
egurucool.Com, a learning and education portal site, has joined forces with over 500 schools in Punjab, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh for imparting computer education. Targeted at students in the early teens to mid-twenties, egurucool provides school and college students with a variety of services including entrance test preparation, curriculum support, on-line help from a network of teachers, and career and personal counselling. Vivek Agarwal, CEO, egurucool.Com said six e-partners have been appointed for further enhancing its presence in the region.

Symantec Corp, iLANTUS Tech ink pact
Symantec Corporation, the world leader in Internet security technology and iLANTUS Technologies, pioneers in integrating infrastructure and security management services on Friday announced a joint partnership programme. Under this programme, iLANTUS Technologies will use Symantec Corporation's products at client sites to manage and implement security solutions.

Speaking on the alliance, Joy Ghosh, Country Manager-Symantec India said, "The Symantec iLANTUS Technologies partnership is in keeping with our objective to offer our world class Internet security solutions in conjunction with superior services.
