New Delhi, Aug 4: Enthused by the growing demand for its small car 'Matiz', Daewoo Motors India Ltd (DMIL) is working towards expanding its dealership network by 23.9 per cent while the number of authorised service centres (ASC) are being increased 111 per cent by September-end.DMIL deputy managing director BS Min, in a statement issued here today, said that the company is putting in place a network of 150 dealers and 190 ASCS by September-end, up from the existing network of 121 dealers and 90 ASCS. The northern region will account for the lion's share of 58 dealerships and 80 ASCS after the exercise. This is against 49 dealers and 48 ASCS in the region now. The southern region will have 36 dealers and 43 ASCS, the west 32 dealers and 44 ASCS and the east will have 24 dealers and 23 ASCS by the end of September this year.
Min said, "This is the best opportunity to reorganise and further strengthen our customer care capability with new dealers. Through this opportunity, we are looking at improving our dealer network to enhance Daewoo's servicing quality to customers.'' Daewoo, he said, has already shortlisted about ten applicants for Mumbai out of which the selected ones will be operational by August-end. "This will take the total number of Daewoo dealerships in mumbai to five by August-end.
Similarly, Daewoo is increasing the current nine ASCS to 12 by August-end and further to 18 by September-end in Mumbai,' Min said. DMIL had recently increased its dealership in Delhi from five in March to nine currently, which will further go to ten by September-end.
