US VC invests Rs 6 crore in Findstone.com

Mumbai: Findstone.com, a B2B site dedicated to the granite and marble business has availed of Rs 6 crore from US-based Venture Capital firm, View. Confirming the investment Vinay Somani, founder Findstone.com, who has been in the granite quarrying business for the last several years also said that this was the first VC funded site in the space and had been up for the last one year. Findstone.com aims at facilitating global buy and sell orders for granite and marble.The site aims to provide an interface between the sellers who are largely concentrated in Indian and China and buyers who are mostly in the US.The site currently has about 3,000 registered users in the industry and lists buyers and sellers. Somani plans to offer a range of value-added services eventually. "These could range from inspection and authentication of products to even logistics," explains Somani.
