Mumbai: With most clients jumping onto the dot.com bandwagon, web-wise agencies are increasingly floating their own interactive divisions to cater to the new media needs of their clients.On August 10, 2000, Ogilvy & Mather Advertising will be spinning off an independent division called `Ogilvy Interactive' in a bid to provide end-to-end interactive solutions to its clients.The Rs 515-crore agency has also roped in Net hotshot Arthi Dwarkadas to head its interactive division. According to Dwarkadas, the new division will offer a host of services which include web designing and online advertising.``Our objective is to be a full-fledged virtual agency. Our main thrust is to meet the evolving needs of our clients,'' adds Dwarkadas.Prior to the shift, Dwarkadas was with Rediff.com as a creative director. Ogilvy & Mather's other divisions include, Ogilvy Financial & Business Communications, Ogilvy Rural Communications Network, Ogilvy Consulting, Artistree, Ogilvy Health, Ogilvy Public Relations and OgilvyOne Worldwide.Yet another Indian advertising agency Chaitra Leo Burnett has launched its interactive division `Cyber Leo', to cater to the new media needs of its clients. Says Chaitra Leo Burnett managing director Arvind Sharma: ``With our dotcom advertising, we hope to add Rs 30 crore to our current billings which stand at Rs 270 crore.''
According to Sharma, Cyber Leo has already bagged a host of dotcom accounts which include moneymanager.com, Riderzone.com Buyasone.com, propmart.com, Indiabulls and ICICI's Cafe Mumbai. The new division offers services like online advertising consultancy, strategic services & consultancy, business planning & consultancy, web branding & designing and offline advertising strategy. ``Our interactive divison is headed by Sandeep Pathak. With our strategic services, we want to show the role Net can play in promoting products,'' elaborates Sharma.Realising the significance of an interactive division, Lowe Lintas & Partners had floated its interactive venture under `Linteractive' in June 2000. Within a short span of time, the agency has bagged over 10 dotcom clients, informs Lowe Lintas & Partners director Raj Gupta: ``Our objective is to offer value-added services to our clients.
Currently, we handle big accounts like indya.com. iBaya.com, verigold.com and a host of other online accounts,'' adds Gupta.Linteractive currently offers consultancy in web communication strategy both for brick and mortar and dotcom brands in addition to creation and management of content for the promotion of brands. ``Our aim is to be a complete online agency,'' says Gupta.
To cope with the increasing number of dotcom clients, TBWA Anthem Interactive has recently opened its branches in Chennai and Pune. ``We are in the process of executing several internationl projects. Also, we have recently bagged new accounts like Toppers.com and Pilgrimageindia.com,'' says TBWA Anthem Communications director Kurien Mathews.
