Our eFE Bureau
With more than 20 US companies setting up shop at India Internet World 2000, the US Department of Commerce announced it's decision to play the role of partner country in next year's show. Mr Franklin Foster, Deputy Commerce Counsellor, US Department of Commerce, made the announcement at the summing up session of IIW 2000 here on Friday. Said Mr Foster that it would be a wonderful opportunity for the small and medium companies in the US to participate in IIW 2001. He added that for the first time the US would be partnering any brand such as IIW. Even as the US would not directly share any expenses for the fair, Mr Foster said that his country would do some indirect funding for it. On the extent of participation by the US, Mr Foster said that next year it would play a pro-active role in the fair. He added:``It is an opportunity for American private companies to collaborate with Indian firms.'' Copyright © 2000 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
