New CSE president nominated Kamal Parekh was today nominated as the president of Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) succeeding J M Choudhury. Parekh would be donning the mantle of president for the second time within a span of three years. The other members of the CSE governing board are K K Daga (vice president), Ajit Khandelwal, Bipin Deora, Raju Bachawat, Girish Mehta, R K Agarwal, J M Choudhury and Dinesh Singhania. The newly-appointed president said efforts would be made to increase turnover of the exchange, besides starting derivatives trading. Parekh said the new committee would ensure that CSE'soperations were expanded to various places within the State.Mixed trend at NSE Equities showed mixed trend on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) today as select scrips found fresh support and recovered, while others continued to fall on increased selling pressure. Mirroring the trend, the S&P CNX Nifty opened better at 1,267.30 and after moving in a range of 1,284.15 and 1,264.40, closed at 1,271.65, showing a fresh rise of 5.25 over the last close of 1,266.40. CNX Nifty Junior declined further by 22.25 to close at 2,369.30 against the previous close of 2,391.55. S&P CNX Defty looked up by 3.30 to 955.80 from 952.50. S&P CNX 500 improved by 2.45 to 925.40 from yesterday's close of 922.95. The most actively traded securities were Global Tele with a turnover of Rs 672.12 cr. Badla timings revised BSE has revised the badla session timings tomorrow due to heavy sun outage between September 27 and October 9,2000.
