New Delhi, Sept 11: Central Monitoring Services India, the joint venture floated by Tata Honeywell and Group4 Securitas Guarding, has announced the launch of security monitoring and response services. The company will launch these services nationwide by the end of 2001.Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the company's chief executive officer Salil Kumar said, "we will provide these services for all kinds of intrusion, fire or medical emergencies in homes or commercial establishments." According to Mr Kumar, a subscription fee would be charged for the service and it would be operational in 43 cities by the end of 2001.The company is expecting more than 10,000 subscriptions by the end of December 2001.
Mr Kumar said "the services include burglar and fire alarm protection. Trained operators will monitor the system 24 hours a day, record signals and take appropriate action. The CMSIPL team is equipped to handle all kinds of intrusion, fire or medical emergencies."
The sensors and other security systems would be sourced from Tata-Honeywell's existing security devices manufacturing company.CMSIPL will conduct its monitoring and response functions through the Central Monitoring Station (CMS) in each city. The CMS will be connected to the subscriber through telephone lines. In future the company will be looking at wireless connectivity as well. The joint venture company will provide three levels of services, that is, 24-hour monitoring only, 24-hour monitoring and response in the night only and 24-hour monitoring and response. In addition, it will also offer diagnostics service for the system, once every month.
